GigaPets StarCat Guide

This post contains spoilers, and this guide is currently incomplete as StarCat just released. I am adding things as I learn them. 🙂

The GigaPets StarCat is a new edition to the lineup, having been released in June of 2022. GigaPets StarCat is a two-in-one device, which also features the CompuKitty. For the purposes of this guide, I’ll be focusing on just the StarCat.

Caring for your StarCat

Caring for your StarCat isn’t very difficult. You feed it, play with it, train it, and do some cat magic!

Feeding is the first icon, it looks like a little fish bone. The first food in this menu is the food (it looks like a cake to me?), and the second food is the treat, which looks like a can of tuna.

The second icon is for sleep, which looks like a moon and stars. Selecting this icon will prompt your StarCat to go take a nap.

The third icon is for play and it looks like a butterfly. StarCat has 3 games available — more on these later.

The fourth icon is for magic and looks like a crystal ball. This is where you can ask StarCat a yes or no question, and get a fortune once a day!

The fifth icon is for the doctor and looks like an ambulance. This is what will fix up your StarCat if they get sick.

The sixth icon is for cleaning and looks like a shower. This will clean up the poop, or give your StarCat a bath.

The seventh icon is your stats, which looks like a heart. Here you can see the various stats of your StarCat — Hunger, Happiness, Health, Discipline, Age, and Weight.

The eighth icon is for training and looks like a bell. This is where you can train your StarCat. You have two options here Reward and Tricks. You’ll want to reward your StarCat when they perform the tricker correctly. This also boosts the discipline score.

The ninth icon is for discipline and looks like a sad cat face. Selecting this will discipline your pet if they are not behaving properly. This will reduce your StarCat’s happiness and health. You can avoid this feature if you like, instead of raising discipline through training.

The tenth and last icon is the alert, and looks like ?!. This will let you know if StarCat needs your attention.

Evolutions

I’ve heard from an inside source that StarCat does have a secret evolution that happens on day 7, if you do a really good job. StarCat also has 2 main evolutions.

Magic

The GigaPets StarCat has a magic feature — this is definitely something different from what we typically find on virtual pets. When your score is about 90, you can ask your StarCat a yes or no question. StarCat will either nod or shake its head to give you the answer.

Once per day, StarCat will look up to the sky and give you a fortune. Each star pattern represents a different thing, which you can see in the charts below.

You can download the GigaPets StarCat Fortune Sheet here.

Games

Karate:

Item One to break: Wood Power meter: Need to build your power meter to at least 10% to break it.
Item Two to break: 2 pieces of Wood Power meter: Need to build your power meter to at least 20% to break it.
Item Three to break: Stone Power meter: Need to build your power meter to at least 50% to break it.
Item Four to break: Steel Power meter: Need to build your power meter to at least 75% to break it.
Item Five to break: Diamond Power meter: Need to build your power meter to at least 90% to break it.

To build your power meter, you must quickly press Left and Right buttons repeatedly to build the power meter up. Once it is at or above the needed power to break it… you would then press the Enter Button.

Training

Tricks

Spell – When this trick is successful, StarCat will summon a ball of yarn.

Fly – When this trick is successful, StarCat will mount a broom and fly.

Play – When this trick is successful, StarCat will play the bongos/drums.

Transform – When this trick is successful, StarCat will transform into a dinosaur.

Make sure to reward StarCat when they perform the trick correctly, as this will raise discipline.

FAQ

Q: Why does my StarCat keep scratching my screen? Should I discipline it?
A: I have confirmed with GigaPets that this is just an idle animation. So you do not want to discipline your StarCat for this animation.

You can download the PDF version of StarCat’s instructions here! Thank you to Gigapets for supplying it! You guys have been amazingly helpful and informative, and I greatly appreciate it!

    1. If you look under the section “Potion Crafting” I have some instructions for the game there. Depending on which potion you’re trying to make, the game works in different ways. 🙂

    1. I do not have another version – only the PDF. You should be able to open it in your browser (I use Chrome and know that works).

  1. My screen keeps going blank when I press a button and when it gets normal again it’s at the food icon again and because of this reason I can’t clean up it’s droppings.

  2. I think the spell trick is StarCat summoning a mouse. It moves on it’s own and StarCat follows it.

That’s not to say it couldn’t be a magical ball of yarn that moves on it’s own.

    1. I’m confused about hoe the Potion Crafting game works. I only see your info on how to play the Karate game. Where is the Potion Crafting? Thank you, btw! This guide is so helpful! I had no idea until now that I wasn’t supposed to discipline my cat for scratching. Hahaha

      1. From what I remember, this works the similar to how potion crafting does on the Pixie. Peek at that guide for the combos/recipes. 🙂 I’ll have to pull out my Starcat again soon so I can write up the potion game – it’s been a while since I played it.

  3. Also, the healthy food is the can of tuna and the treat is the mooncake, I believe. When I feed my kitty the tuna, health goes up. When I feed kitty the mooncake, health goes down. (I’ve checked health after feeding each). That would make sense as to the can being the first choice in the food section and the mooncake being the reward for the tricks.

  4. Hey thanks for your helpful instructions and insight. I appreciate it and please continue to help the public like myself. Peace and love Jen!!!!

  5. This is great, thank you! Like most I had the compukitty in the 90s and my boyfriend gave me the same for Xmas. I’m having a lot of fun with StarCat. My fav is when he looks around to see if anyone is looking before knocking over the milk!
